Community Games

I have just received a copy of the Limerick Community games book celebrating their 40th anniversary. It is an impressive A4 book running to over 200 pages in full colour. There is an article on our local Bruree Rockhill area illustrated with a great selection of photos. The book contains articles on all the areas in Limerick. If you are interested in buying one of the books, please contact Mary McSweeney or Rebecca Murphy. The book costs €10 and is excellent value.

Thank You

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul would like to thank everyone who donated so generously to their collection in Rockhill-Bruree last weekend. The total collected was €730 which is greatly appreciated.

Christmas

Once again, Christmas and the New Year are upon us. This year the season seems to have crept up on us very quickly - definitely a feature of advancing age! Christmas is a season of great contrasts. For some people it is a time of great joy, great happiness, great excitement. For others it is the loneliest time of the year, a time of sadness. For many it will be a time of plenty - though the extravagance of recent years may not be evident this Christmas. Other will not even have enough. If you are among the more fortunate, spare a thought for those who may be less well off. I wish all readers of these weekly notes all the best for the Christmas season and a happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year. Thanks to all those who provided items for the notes over the past twelve months. Hopefully you will continue to do so in 2010.
