BRUREE NOTES 25/10/2010

DEFIBRILLATOR QUIZ
The postponed Table Quiz in aid of the Rockhill Bruree Defibrillator Association will be held at the Central Bar on this Friday, October 29th at 9.30 pm. The subscription for a table of four will be €40 and there will also be a raffle on the night. Locally based defibrillators with a network of people in the area trained in their effective use have been proven to be lifesavers. In the case of a heart attack, early intervention is vital and defibrillators based in Rockhill and Bruree make this possible. Your generous support would be greatly appreciated. It may save a life and that life could be yours! So, get your brains in gear and head for the Central Bar on Friday night and help save a life. For further details contact John Daly 087-2388924.
GAA
Players Development Fund: Bruree GAA is holding its Player Development Fund annual draw again this year. The 2009 draw has €1,000 in cash as a first prize in each of four weekly draws. There will also be one prize of €200 and three of €100 for each draw. And the good news is that the subscription is still the same - just €20 for the four draws. The first draw will be held on Monday, November 29th, with the other draws on subsequent Monday nights. Contact any member of Bruree GAA to join the draw.
AGM: The Annual General Meeting of Bruree GAA will be held on Saturday, November 20th in the Community Centre at 8.30 pm. All nominations/motions should be forwarded to the secretary by October 31st, 2010.
JUVENILE GAA
Under 15: Our Under 15 hurlers travelled to Feenagh to take on Monagea in the county final. Unfortunately defeat was to be our lot once again. Monagea struck first with a goal in the first few minutes. However, Bruree rallied and a great goal from Aaron Fitzgerald got us back into the game. Two pointed frees from Shane Feane and a point from play from Eamon Lyons had Bruree leading by 1-3 to 1-2 at half time.
As in the forst half, we concede an early goal in the second half to put Monagea ahead once again. Even though we only scored another pointed free by Shane Feane in the second half, we were still a goal behind entering the last five minutes. However, Monagea snatched two late goals to leave the final score Bruree 1-4 Monagea 4-4. Even though these players have endured a lot of disappointment over the last few weeks, we must congratulate them and the people in charge of them for a great effort again last Saturday.
The Bruree team was Ronan O’Halloran, James Kelleher, T.J. Mullane, William Howard, Terence Galvin Buckley, Shane Feane, Darren Kelly, David Considine, Aaron Fitzgerald, Eamon Lyons, Cian McCarthy, Jonathan Harris, Rory O’Shaughnessy, Seamus Lyons.
Under 13: Our Under 13 hurlers are now our last chance of a county title. Their county final against Askeaton/Ballysteen will hopefully be played this weekend (October30/31) venue and time to be decided.
