News from Bruree and Rockhill is available on the internet at This is updated weekly.

Rockhill Rover kept up their fantastic form again on Sunday, when beating Glantine 2-0 away from home. It really was a team performance with Rockhill’s back four and midfield outstanding on the day. And as usual their front two worked tirelessly to keep the ball in the opposition half. The lads who came on also played their part in the victory. The goals were a fantastic effort from Gerard O’Dea in the first half and a great finish from Jimmy O’Dea late in the second half. Rockhill are now top of the league for the time being and are pushing hard for promotion to the Premier League next season.

Tune in to The Sunday Saloon on BCR92.6FM every Sunday from 4.00 to 5.00 pm for the best of country music. Text requests to 085 23 26 900.

There will be a local art competition held at the school hall on Saturday, 11th February, 2012 at 10.00 am. Under 6 up to Under 16 are eligible to compete. Further details will be available from the school closer to the time. The Under 10 handwriting competition will also take place on this day, same venue. There was a lot of interest expressed in developing a tag rugby team for the games and we are seeking volunteers (over 18) to coach our Under 11 and Under 14 teams. If interested in this position please contact Rebecca at 087-2847429 a.s.a.p. or any member of the committee.

We extend our sincere sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of Patsy Collins, Knockfenora, who died recently.

The collections for the parish clerks will take place in Rockhill on Saturday, February 11th and in Bruree on Sunday, February 12th. Your usual generosity would be greatly appreciated.
