BRUREE NOTES 5/2/2012

ROAD WORKS:

Limerick County Council has been doing road works around the parish in recent months. In the village, the wall to the west of the village has been repaired and resurfacing has taken place at Railway Mews. Major road re-alignment has taken place at Rockhill Cross and this is now finished. Junction layout changes have also taken place at O’Rourke’s Cross. These badly needed works will hopefully make things safer for motorists.

45 DRIVE:

Winners of last week’s 45 Drive were Fintan Stone and Mike O’Brien with ten games. Runners up with eight games were Brendan O’Kelly and Anne Frawley. Raffle prizes went to Tom Collins, Patsy Healy, Joe Carey and Eddie Ryan. The 45 Drive continues in the Community Centre every Tuesday night, starting at 8.30 pm sharp.

INTERNET:

News from Bruree and Rockhill is available on the internet at http://brureenews.blogspot.com/. This is updated weekly.

BRUREE/ROCKHILL COMMUNITY GAMES:

There will be a local art competition held at the school hall on this Saturday, 11th February, 2012 at 10.00 am. Under 6 up to Under 16 are eligible to compete. Further details will be available from the school closer to the time. The Under 10 handwriting competition will also take place on this day, same venue. There was a lot of interest expressed in developing a tag rugby team for the games and we are seeking volunteers (over 18) to coach our Under 11 and Under 14 teams. If interested in this position please contact Rebecca at 087-2847429 a.s.a.p. or any member of the committee.

SYMPATHY:

We extend our sincere sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of Con Murphy, Charleville, who died recently.

COLLECTION:

The collections for the parish clerks will take place in Rockhill on this Saturday, February 11th and in Bruree on this Sunday, February 12th. Your usual generosity would be greatly appreciated.
