Bruree Notes 13/11/2011


Sportsfield

The AGM of the Rockhill Bruree Sportsfield Development Committee will be held on this Friday, November 18th, at 8.00 pm in St. Patrick’s National School. These are exciting time for the future of the sportsfield so, hopefully, there will be a large and representative attendance at the meeting. Everyone is welcome.

Kilmallock Journal
 
The latest Kilmallock Journal, the eight edition, was launched at the Pastoral Centre on Saturday night last. The journal contains lots of very interesting articles and photos including an article on Bruree in the 1930s. Copies are available from a number of outlets in Kilmallock.

Bruree GAA

Players Development Fund: Bruree GAA is holding its Player Development Fund annual draw again this year. The 2011 draw has €4,000 in prizes over four weekly draws. And the good news is that the subscription is still the same - just €20 for the four draws. The first draw will be held on Monday, November 28th, with the other draws on subsequent Monday nights. The Grand Prize in the final draw on Monday, December 19th is a weekend for two in New York or €1,000 in cash. Contact any member of Bruree GAA to join the draw.

45 Drive

Winners of last week’s 45 Drive were Eugene Grant and Joe Carey and Fintan Stone and Mike O’Brien with nine games. Raffle prizes went to Anne Potter, Evelyn Byrnes, Seamus Sexton and Noreen Hayes. The 45 Drive continues in the Community Centre every Tuesday night, starting at 8.30 pm sharp.

Juvenile GAA

Fixtures:
The Under 16 footballers will play Fedamore in the semi-final of the Shield competition in Bruree on Saturday, 19th November, at 11.30am.

Sympathy

We extend our sincere sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of Jack Binchy, Charleville, Pat Burke, Athlacca, and Peggy Hickey, Doneraile,who died recently


Hospice

A 45 Drive in aid of Milford Hospice will be held at Meanus Community Centre on Sunday, November 27th starting at 8.30 pm. There will be a monster raffle and admission tickets are just €5.

Lotto

Lucky dip winners in last week’s Bruree GAA/Rockhill Rovers lotto draw were €50 Patrick Thompson €25 Colm O’Shea, Darren Murphy, Dublin €20 Maurice Riordan, Creggane, Joan Finn, Mike Moloney.

One Man Band

Ballyhoura Community Radio (BCR92.6FM) will launch its radio documentary “The One Man Band” at the Charleville Park Hotel on Monday, December 5th, at 9.00pm the documentary tells the story of the late great Johnny Barrett and music for the night will be provided by Dermot Lyons and guests. Tickets are €10 and are available locally from John Harrold, any of the other station presenters or at the door on the night.
