GAA

All County League: Bruree travelled to Bruff for their league game on Wednesday night. After a slow start, Bruree had a good second half to take a 3-14 to 0-14 victory over the locals on the night. The sides were level at half time on a Bruree 1-7 Bruff 0-10 scoreline. Bruree’s goal came early from a long range Jimmy O’Dea shot which ended up in the back of the net. After that it was tit for tat as the sides exchanged scores for the remainder of the half hour. Michael Lane, James V. O’Brien and Brian O’Rourke had points from play while Stephen O’Halloran converted two frees. Jimmy O’Dea found the net again early in the second half with a great ground whip which gave the goalkeeper no chance. Bruree never looked like losing after that with Brian O’Rourke, Jimmy O’Dea, Shane Mullane and James V. O’Brien all adding points for Bruree. Stephen O’Halloran pointed a free for Bruree while Donal Deady put the icing on the cake with a late goal. This left the final score Bruree 3-14 Bruff 0-14. The Bruree team was Eamon Sexton, Morgan Lyons, John O’Brien, Kieran O’Rourke, Dessie Lenihan, Stephen McDonogh, Shane Mullane, James V. O’Brien, James C. O’Brien, Brendan Hogan, Gerard O’Brien, Michael Lane, Paddy Kelly, Stephen O’Halloran, Brian O’Rourke Jimmy O’Dea, Donal Deady.
