Bruree Notes 12/7/2009

GAA

Fixtures: Saturday July 18th Junior A Hurling Championship v Kilmallock at Ballyagran at 7.30 pm

Monday July 20th Junior Football v Kilmallock

Golf Classic: A fundraising Golf Classic will be held at Charleville Golf Club on Friday, July 17th. A very attractive first prize of All Ireland Final tickets plus overnight accommodation makes this the classic to be part of. To enable everyone who wants to support the Bruree GAA Golf Classic this year to do so, we have reduced the team entry fee to €100 (team of 3) and tee sponsorship to €50. Any family who would like to be part of the golf classic can sponsor a tee box at €50. We hope that families will take the opportunity to support this event. If you have any queries please contact Chairman Noel O’Halloran on 087 7512396. For team bookings contact John Carey at 087-2701771. The presentation of prizes will take place at the Central Bar, Bruree, after the classic.

Busy Weekend: Last weekend was a busy one in inter county GAA circles and we had Bruree people heavily involved throughout the weekend. At Wexford park on Saturday evening, James V. O’Brien justified his introduction as a sub when he scored the final Limerick point in their two point victory over Wexford in the All-Ireland qualifiers. Likewise, Emmett Morrissey scored a point after his introduction for London in the Nicky Rackard Cup final at Croke Park. Unfortunately, this was not enough to secure victory against Meath. At Thurles on Sunday, John Sexton took charge of the Munster Senior Hurling final between Tipperary and Waterford. John did a good job in this hard fought, passionate game of hurling which saw Tipperary emerge victorious. Well done to evenyone involved.

Members Draw

There is just one draw still to go in the Ballyhoura Community Radio members draw. You can join the draw for just €10. You can join with John Harrold or any member of BCR. Your support would be greatly appreciated for your radio station. Ballyhoura Community Radio is now broadcasting on the internet on Friday, Saturday and Sundays from 5.00 to 9.00 pm. Just go to www.bcradio.ie and click on the Listen Live link. Requests may be sent to studio@bcradio.ie. BCR is a community station run by volunteers. Much of the finances to run the station must come from fundraising.
