BRUREE NOTES 9/8/2009

GAA

Junior A Football: After a good start against Kilmallock at Bruree on Monday night in the South championship, Bruree had to come from behind in the closing minutes to earn a draw. An early pointed free from Stephen O’Halloran followed by a well taken goal from John O’Brien gave Bruree an early lead. However, Kilmallock tacked on 1-6 without reply until Stephen O’Halloran pointed from play in the closing minutes to leave the half time score Bruree 1-2 Kilmallock 1-6. The sides exchanged point in the opening twenty minutes of the second half with Paddy Kelly and Shane Mullane (2) providing Bruree’s scores. In the closing minutes John O’Brien found the Kilmallock net for his second gaol and John O’Halloran levelled matters with a point from play. This left the final score Bruree 2-6 Kilmallock 1-9. The Bruree team was Pat O’Shea, Chris Sexton, Anthony O’Shea, Andrew Sexton, Vincent Stanton, Jimmy O’Dea, Shane Mullane, James c. O’Brien, Brian Morrissey, Michael Lane, John O’Brien, Tommy O’Brien, Brian O’Rourke, Stephen O’Halloran, Paddy Kelly, Sean Deane, John O’Halloran, Donal Deady, Dessie Lenihan, Gerard O’Dea, Patrick Deady, Philip Hogan, Niall Broderick.
