BRUREE NOTES 28/2/2010

The parish clerks in Rockhill and Bruree would both like to thank everyone who contributed to their recent collections. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.



GAA



Membership: The annual membership subscription is now due and should be paid to Kit O’Halloran immediately. The membership fee for 2010 is €20 for adults. Any player will not be allowed participate in training or play in games until such time as they have paid their membership fee.

Mackey Draw: The Limerick GAA Development Draw will once again be a major fundraiser for Bruree GAA during 2010. This year’s draw features all cash prizes for the ten draws with a top prize in each draw of €18,000 and prizes of €5,000, €2,000 and €1,500 as well as numerous lesser prizes. The subscription is €10 per draw or €100 for the year. You can join the draw with any of the clubs promoters.

All Ireland: Congratulations to David O’Dea who won an All Ireland Junior Football medal with Castlegregory recently.

45 DRIVE



Winners of the 45 Drive last week with eight games were Tom Hanley and Sadie Moloney. Runners up with seven games were Sean Blake and Katherine O’Regan and Ann Potter and partners. Raffle prizes went to Sadie Moloney, Tom Hanley, Fintan Stone and Josephine Lynch. The 45 Drive continues in the Community Centre every Tuesday night, starting at 8.30 pm sharp.



BRUREE JUVENILE GAA



Indoor Hurling 2010: This year’s indoor hurling competition continues in the Community Centre through February and March. Dates and times are as follows:

Under 12: Thursday 25th February, Friday 26th February, Thursday 4th March from 7.00 to 8.30 pm

Under 8 and 10: Monday 1st March, Monday 8th March from 7.00 to 8.30 pm

The semi finals for Under 12, the shield final for Under 8 and Under 10 and the Cup final for Under 12 will take place on Thursday March 11th from 7.00 to 9.00 pm.

Once again, this year’s main sponsor is Ray Moloney Butcher, Bruree. All players are asked to only attend on the nights they are playing. The finals are on Thursday, 11th March, and all players must attend on this night as there will be presentations. Team lists have been put on the notice board at the school and managers over each team will receive a full list.

We extend our sincere sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of Richard O’Donnell, Bruff, who died recently.

Lucky dip winners in last week’s Bruree GAA/Rockhill Rovers lotto draw were €50 Alick Burke, Banogue €25 Sean and Kevin O’Connor, Ailish Sweeney, Newport €20 Diarmuid McSweeney, Charleville, Ava O’Donnell, c/o Margaret Mooney, Allen and Brendan, c/o Ann Potter.
