BRUREE NOTES 22/8/2010

CLERKS COLLECTION




The collection for the parish clerks will be taken up on next weekend, Saturday, August 28th (Rockhill) and Sunday, August 29th (Bruree). Your generosity would be greatly appreciated.



PRE-SCHOOL



Bruree Rockhill Community Childcare Ltd will hold an open night on Thursday August 26th from 6 pm onwards at the pre-school “Stepping Stones” located next door to Ray Moloney’s Butchers. All are welcome, refreshments will be served. Spot prizes to be won on the night.

County Under 21 Football

Tuesday September 21st Bruree v Galtee Gaels at Bruree at 6.30 pm

45 DRIVE



Winners of the 45 Drive last week with eleven games were Tom Collins and Patsy Healy. Runners up with nine games were Mary Noonan and Evelyn Byrnes. Table prizes went to Fintan Stone and Mike O’Brien and Mary Margaret Noonan and Nora May Donworth. Raffle prizes were won by Tommy Riordan, Sean Blake, John Moloney and Evelyn Byrnes. The 45 Drive continues in the Community Centre every Tuesday night, starting at 8.30 pm sharp.

JUVENILE GAA



Bruree’s Under 16 hurlers qualified for the county final after holding out for a good win over Crecora at Athlacca. Bruree, playing with the wind, led by 0-7 to 0-2 at half time and had to battle hard to come out eventual 0-11 to 2-4 victors.



LOTTO



Lucky dip winners in last week’s Bruree GAA/Rockhill Rovers lotto draw were €50 Kit O’Halloran €25 N. and P. Horgan, Tony, Kay and children Ryan Thompson €20 Danny Deady, Moloney’s Bar, David O’Brien.
