Bruree Notes 16/1/2011

GAA

Membership: Members are reminded that their annual subscription is now due and should be paid to Kit O’Halloran or Johnny Wall immediately. It is vital that all members have paid their subscriptions in full at the earliest possible date.
Committee: There will be a meeting of the committee of Bruree GAA at Bruree Community Centre on Wednesday night next, January 19th at 9.00 pm. All members are asked to attend.

Juvenile GAA

Important meeting: There will be an important Juvenile Club meeting in the school tonight, Thursday, January 20th, at 8.30pm.It is hoped to put a number of initiatives in place which will guide us to another successful year for the club in 2011. Among the items on the agenda for discussion are the training programme for the year, coaching, a communications sub committee and fundraising. This is a meeting which the parents of all children should attend so we hope for a good attendance tonight.

Membership: Membership for 2011 will be €5 per child with a cap of €20 for any number of children from the one family. This is now due and can be paid to any of the club officers.

Sympathy

We extend our sincere sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of Catherine Power, Cappananty, who died recently.

45 Drive

Winners of the 45 Drive last week with nine games were Eugene Grant and Joe Carey. Runners up with eight games were Brendan O’Kelly and John Sheehan. Raffle prizes were won by Noreen Hayes, Joe Carey, Mary Margaret Noonan, Tom Hanley, Josephine Lynch, Donal Hannon and Joe Carey. The 45 Drive continues in the Community Centre every Tuesday night, starting at 8.30 pm sharp.

Rockhill/Bruree Defibrillator Association

We wish to let you know that we will be calling to all houses in the parish with details of the upcoming “Information Night” being held in Bruree National School on January 26th, 2011, at 8.00 pm. All parishioners are requested and welcome to attend.
We would like to take this opportunity to offer our sincere sympathy to John Carey, our treasurer, and his sisters Margaret and Catherine on the death of their mother on December 21st. John is a stalwart member of this newly formed association and without his input and support we would not be making the progress in this project that we are.
