Bruree Notes 13/3/2011

45 Drive

Winners of the 45 Drive last week with ten games were Eugene Grant and Joe Carey. Runners up with eight games were Tom Collins and Patsy Healy and Fintan Stone and Mike O’Brien. Raffle prizes went to Fintan Stone, Josephine Lynch, Noreen Hayes and Katherine O’Regan.  The 45 Drive continues in the Community Centre every Tuesday night, starting at 8.30 pm sharp.

Parent Baby and Toddler Group

The parent, baby and toddler group meet every Tuesday at Bruree National School hall from 10.00 to 12.00 am. Parents/grandparents are invited to come along and enjoy a chat with other parents over a nice cup of tea whilst your little ones enjoy playing and socialising with other kids their own size. There is lots of fun to be had!! People from all surrounding areas are very welcome. Contact Helen (087-9412600), Margie (086-0747581) or just come along on Tuesday at 10.00 am. See you there.

Thank You

Donal Deady and Special Olympics Ireland would like to thank Bruree GAA and Rockhill Rovers for donating the proceeds of a recent lotto draw towards cost of Donal’s travel expenses as a coach to this year’s summer games in Athens. Thanks to everyone who sold lotto tickets, especially those who made a special effort to sell extra tickets. The total donated was €1,500.
Donal has another fundraising venture this weekend and looks forward to your support. He has organised a bag packing day at Supervalu, Charleville, for this Saturday, March 19th. Your generosity would be greatly appreciated as Donal prepares to travel to Greece as a golf coach with the Irish Special Olympics team.

Sympathy

We extend our sincere sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of Joan EnrightSherin’s Cross, and Nell CoughlanFeenagh, who died recently.

Poc Fada

Bruree GAA will hold a Poc Fada competition on St. Patrick’s Day. Registration is at The Hotel at 12.15 pm and entry is €10 per person. A team consists of three people. Proceeds of the competition go to the local defibrillator group. Contact Brendan Hogan (086-1736608) for further details.

Awards Night

The Bruree GAA awards night will be held at Deebert House Hotel, KIlmallock, on Saturday, April 2nd, starting at 9.00 pm. Tickets cost just €10 and are available from Laura O’Sullivan or Noel O’Halloran. All members are asked to make a special effort to attend.

St. Patrick’s National School

Enrolment of New Pupils: Application forms for the enrolment of children starting school in September are now available from the school. Parents of new pupils are invited to visit the school, view its facilities, visit the infant classroom and meet the Infant Teacher and Principal between 2.15 and 3.00 pm Monday to Friday of next week. For other times please ring 063-90896 for an appointment.

Lotto

Lucky dip winners in last week’s Bruree GAA/Rockhill Rovers lotto draw were €50 Marian Brosnan, Bruff €25 Dan and Eilish, c/o Francis Finn, Sean Treacy €20 June O’Malley, Charleville, Amy O’Connor, Jerry McCarthy.
