JUVENILE GAA:

Cul Camp: The annual Cul Camp was a great success with 70 children taking part. The camp was co-ordinated by inter county hurler James Ryan and he and his team of enthusiastic coaches gave great guidance to the next generation ofBruree hurlers and footballers. Once again we were lucky with the weather for the week.  On the final day Conor Allis, a current member of the Limerick squad, gave a talk to the children on what it takes to make it onto a county squad. Afterwards the children queued up to get autographs with Conor, James and the other coaches. Mike Mullane, Juvenile Chairman, thanked James and the coaches for their excellent work during the week.
As ever an event like this needs a lot of organisation and Michael Lyons, our coaching officer, deserves our thanks for his hard work both in the lead up to and during the week of the camp. Special thanks must also go to Joan Quirke and Donna Finn who helped supervise and aided the smooth running of the camp. Finally thanks to everyone that helped in any way with the success of the camp. The feedback has been excellent and we are already looking forward to next year.
U14 Hurling: Bruree 1 - 9  Shamrock Gaels 3 - 7 Our Under 14 hurlers were in action in Athlacca last Wednesday night and came off second best against Shamrock Gaels in a tight, competitive game. Bruree started brightly with Sean Quirke (2), Daire O’Driscoll (1) and Tommy Cronolly (1) on the mark. Shamrock Gaels scored a point and then Tommy Cronolly goaled for Bruree. However Shamrock Gaels came strongly into the game and at halftime there was only three points in the game. In the second half Shamrock Gaels really took the game to Bruree and, despite having some good chances, Bruree could not convert and Shamrock Gaels went on to win by four points. Tommy Cronolly, Brian Sexton and Daire O’Driscoll were our best performers on the night.
U14 All County Hurling League Final: Congratulations to our U14s on their recent well deserved victory over St. Mary’s Rathkeale. This was a highly entertaining game where our greater teamwork was the main difference between the teams. This is the second final that this team have contested already this year and we are still in contention in both championships. Well done to the team and mentors and hopefully there will be more silverware before the end of the year!
