BRUREE NOTES 19/4/2009

GAA

Junior a Hurling: On Thursday evening we played host to St. Kierans in the Junior A League. Bruree led by 106 to 0-5 at the break but relaxed in the final quarter of the game to give the visitors the chance to almost steal a march on them. A well taken goal from Donal Deady added to his first half point’s tally of four, two from frees. John Lynch and John Deady both chipped in with points from play. Donal Deady and Mike Sexton both added points from play early in the first half with St. Kieran’s also having a point from play. Midway through the half, Donal Deady again had a pointed free but this was to turn out to be Bruree’s last score of the game. St. Kieran’s added four points, three from placed balls, to leave the final score Bruree 1-9 St. Kieran’s 0-10. The Bruree team was Eamon Sexton, John O’Halloran, Morgan Lyons, Chris Sexton, Vincent Stanton, Anthony O’Shea, Paul Fitzgerald, Andrew Sexton, David Hogan, John Lynch, Patrick Fitzgerald, John Deady, Donal Deady, Mike Sexton, Declan Sexton, Brendan Hogan, Patrick Deady, Emmett Morrissey, Niall Broderick, Michael Cotter.
