Membership: The annual membership subscription is now overdue and should be paid to Kit O’Halloran immediately. The membership fee for 2010 is €20 for adults. Any player will not be allowed participate in training or play in games until such time as they have paid their membership fee.

45 DRIVE



Winners of the 45 Drive last week with nine games were Noreen Hayes and Josephine Lynch. Runners up with eight games were John and Marie Healy. Raffle prizes went to Sadie Moloney, Jim O’Connor (x2) and Mary Margaret Noonan. The 45 Drive continues in the Community Centre every Tuesday night, starting at 8.30 pm sharp.



CEOILTE AT BEECH LODGE



Beech Lodge Care Facility was alive with the sounds of traditional Irish music and dance as The Butterfly Company brought their magical show Ceoilte to the nursing home last Friday morning. Featuring music from Riverdance, old favourites like Danny Boy and lively Irish dancing, residents thoroughly enjoyed the performance. A big thank you to performers Edel Lawless, Sarahrose Murphy, Katie Brennan and director Emma Joyce who did a marvellous job.



ST. PATRICK’S NATIONAL SCHOOL



Handwriting: Congratulations to Tadhg Gorey O’Neill who won first prize in the handwriting competition for primary schools. He was a joint winner in one of the First and Second Class categories. He was presented with his award at a function in Limerick last week. Well done, Tadhg!

EASTER DRAW



Bruree Rockhill Community Childcare Ltd. aims to set up a community pre-school in Bruree village in September 2010. All children are entitled to one year free pre-school between the age of three years and ten months and five years of age. Children born between February 2006 and June 2007 would be eligible for free pre-school in September 2010. We are holding an Easter raffle to raise funds to set up the pre-school with a giant Easter hamper as first prize. Second prize is an Easter basket and third prize a luxury Easter egg. Tickets at just €2 each are available from local shops, the Post Office, the Primary School and the Central Bar. Tickets are also available from the following committee members Mai McKiernan, Judy Tobin, Elaine O’Dwyer, Rebecca Murphy, Marian Frawley, Sìle De Clèir, Mary Daly and Eileen Williams. The draw will take place on Holy Thursday, April 1st at 9.00 pm in the Central Bar.



The Parent and Toddler Group continues to meet every Tuesday from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon in the Primary School during school term. All children including infants to pre-school and their parents/carers are welcome to come along.



Bruree Rockhill Community Games



Talent: The Under 14 and Under 10 talent finals took place in Caherconlish over the last few weeks. The Irish dancing finals Under 14 took place last Friday night in Adare. Michelle Brosnan won a bronze medal in the Under 14 solo music and the group music qualified for the final. They were Michelle Brosnan, Rachel McCarthy, Laura Murphy, Julianne Barrington, Emma Howard and Mary Murphy. In the Under 14 Irish dancing Sean Quirke won a gold medal in the solo competition and with his sister Katie won bronze in the group dancing. Another local group danced in the final - they were Christina McKiernan, Laura Murphy, Rosarie Heffernan, Ciara Daly, Seamus Lyons and Brian Sexton. In the Under 10 talent final Jennifer Cotter and Holly O’Dwyer won gold medals in the group dancing. In the Under 10 group music John Sheehan and Cathal and Frankie Barrington won silver medals. Cathal and Frankie both won bronze medals in the solo music competitions. Thanks to all the parents who came to the talent finals and well done to all the children who performed so well.



GOLF SOCIETY



The next outing is the Pat Potter Memorial Singles to Killarney Golf and Fishing Club. This is on May 1st. Names have to be in by April 28th. No names or money will be accepted on the day.
