BRUREE NOTES 2/5/2010

ADORATION




There will be Eucharistic Adoration in Bruree Church on this Friday, May 7th, from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. The First Friday Mass will be at 9.30 am in Bruree.



BAG PACKING



Bruree Rockhill Community Childcare Limited aims to open a pre-school in Bruree village in September 2010. In order to raise much needed funds we are looking for volunteers for bag packing in Dunnes Stores, Charleville, on Saturday May 15th next from 9 am to 7 pm. Volunteers need to be over 14 years of age. Anyone with an hour or two to spare on that day to help to get this much needed facility up and running, please contact Mai on 086 3083252 or Judy on 087 6256906.



GAA



Mackey Draw: The next Mackey Draw (Limerick GAA Development Draw) will be held at the Central Bar, Bruree, on Friday, May 7th. The draw will be held at 10.00 pm and everyone is welcome to attend. Hopefully, at least one of the prizes and maybe even the big one, will stay in the parish.



Membership: The annual membership subscription is now overdue and should be paid to Kit O’Halloran immediately. The membership fee for 2010 is €20 for adults. Any player will not be allowed participate in training or play in games until such time as they have paid their membership fee.

45 DRIVE



Winners of the 45 Drive last week with seven games were Fintan Stone and Mike O’Brien and Brendan O’Kelly and Patsy Healy. Raffle prizes went Fintan Stone, Donie Hannon, Noreen Hayes and Ann Frawley. The 45 Drive continues in the Community Centre every Tuesday night, starting at 8.30 pm sharp.

LADIES FOOTBALL



The Bruree Ladies Football team had an exciting home game against Rathkeale on Saturday evening. In a tough encounter, in very inclement conditions, Bruree excelled in the first half and lead 1-3 to 0-0 at the interval. However, Rathkeale dominated most of the second half and the teams were level at 2-4 a piece when the final whistle blew. The Bruree team was Leanne Geary, Noreen Lane, Roisin Cussen, Aine Walsh, Marian O’Brien, Valarie O’Dea, Evelyn O’Dea, Caitriona O’Dea, Claudia Hudner, Natasha Murphy, Anna O’Dea, Shauna McCallan, Mairead O’Shea, Janice White, Anne Deady, Fiona Geary, Jennifer Geary and Laura O’Sullivan.



New members are always welcome, contact any team member or Seanie Deady for details.

Lucky dip winners in last week’s Bruree GAA/Rockhill Rovers lotto draw were €50 Mike Daffy, Kilmallock €25 Ava O’Donnell, c/o Mooneys, Greg Constant, c/o Thompsons €20 Mike Potter, Kilmallock, Helen Murphy, John and Mary Daly.



ACTIVITY SUMMER CAMP



The Bruree Activity Summer Camp for all children attending national school will take place this year from Monday 5th July to Friday, 9th July from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm daily. Activities will include rounders, obstacle course races, soccer, dodgeball, bowling and many more. The camp will also cover art and craft activities such as clay modelling, painting, etc. The camp will be held in the national school hall and application forms will be distributed to children through the school this coming week.
