BRUREE NOTES 20/6/2010

DONAL O’SHEA
The area has lost another landmark with the untimely death at a young age last week of Donal O’Shea of Garryfine. A familiar figure to everyone in the locality, the news of his serious illness and his subsequent death was greeted with shock and dismay by all who knew him. Hardly a day passed without Donal being out and about on his bicycle, whether he was going to work, to do some shopping, going to mass or just at his leisure. Donal had a large circle of friends and could converse on a wide variety of topics. In recent years he worked on a number of community projects. Donal took great pride in his work, always approaching his task with diligence and attention to detail. Those who came across Donal in the course of his work always commented favourably on their experience. His faith was very important to Donal and he was a regular mass attender. His popularity was evidenced by the large turnout at his removal from Bennis’ in Ballyagran, his funeral mass at St. Munchin’s Church, Rockhill and his interment at Shanavogha. We offer our sincere sympathy to his brothers and sisters, his extended family and his many friends.
