BRUREE NOTES 27/6/2010

Children who are taking part in the Bruree GAA Smmer Coaching Week at Bruree Spportsfield this week

Congratulations to Canon Patrick Kelly who celebrated his Diamond Jubilee in Athea recently. He came from Castletown and was ordained on June 18th 1950. Fr. Pat, as he was known, was a very popular curate in Rockhill-Bruree from February 1958 until June 1966. During his time in the parish he was very involved in promoting gaelic games at underage and left a great underage legacy in the parish. We wish him many more years of health and happiness.

Thanks to everyone who contributed so generously to the recent church gate collection in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation. The total collected was €873. Thanks also to those who volunteered to stand for the collection.

Well done to the residents of Gardenfield who have taken charge of caring for the green spaces and shrubs in their area.

Bruree Rockhill Community Childcare Limited intends to open a Pre-School Facility in the heart of Bruree Village from September 2010.
