Sympathy

We extend our sincere sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of Joseph McGrath, Knockmore, Mark Dempsey, Croom, Colman Danaher, Killacolla, and Mary Geary, Kilmallock, who died recently.

Defibrillators

Plans are in train to provide defibrillators in the parish. The drive to raise funds for the defibrillators starts with a church gate collection at Rockhill and Bruree on this coming weekend, August 7th/8th. Locally based defibrillators with a network of people in the area trained in their effective use have been proved to be lifesavers. In the case of a heart attack, early intervention is vital and defibrillators based in Rockhill and Bruree makes this possible. Your generous support would be greatly appreciated. It may save a life and that life could be yours!

Jackpot Won

The Bruree GAA/Rockhill Rovers lotto jackpot of €19,400 was won last week by Patrick O’Donnell c/o Mooney’s Bruree. The lucky numbers were 1, 7, 9 and 20 and the winning ticket was sold by Margaret Thompson.

Pump

The wooden water pump in Garrouse has long been a local landmark and an intrinsic part of the heritage of the area. The pump has been kept in good condition by the care and attention lavished on it by Frank Finn. Well done Frank.
