ROCKHILL ROVERS:

Rockhill continued their fine league form when they beat Adare United in Adare. Rockhill started slowly and were under a lot of pressure for the first 15 or 20 minutes, but as usual their back four dealt with everything that was thrown at them superbly. Rockhill created some good chances after that and probably should have been 2 or 3-0 up at half time. However, at half time it was 0-0. The visitors started a lot better in the second half and the pressure was all coming from them. Unfortunately it seemed like they would only gain a point, as poor finishing was again a factor. That was until Michael Thompson put an inch perfect corner right on Ger O’Dea's head and the Adare defender handled on the line, resulting in a penalty and a straight red card. Stevie O’Halloran slotted the resultant penalty home to give Rockhill a deserved lead. It was only a matter of time until Rockhill scored again, and it was that man again - Tom O’Shea - who finished from close range after great work from Donie Deady. The win leaves Rockhill joint top of Division One after 5 games.
